Ethiopia

3 Different Locations that cover a wide variety of climates, plant pests, and farming practices

Low Quality Seeds

Local seeds are highly susceptible to pests and diseases and their crop has very short shelf life.

High Quality Seeds

Professional high quality seeds are resistant to many pests and diseases, the crop is of high quality and long shelf life, minimizing post-harvest losses

Malnutrition & poverty

Daily income for a smallholder farmer is about 1.5$. Over 7 million people suffer from malnutrition in Ethiopia alone.

Nutrition & Income

Locally produced vegetables allows farmers to benefit from improved nutrition. the improved yield and better crop quality increase their profit by 8 times.

Low crop yields

Average yield of tomato crop produced from local seeds is 7,670 Kg / Ha, about 20% of the yield achieved when using high quality seed varieties.

High crop yields

By using better seeds, local farmers can increase their yield more than 5 times.

The Problem

Our Solution

Hebrew

trial

We bring world wide high quality seeds and test them using local methods and practices.

We proved that by using better seeds local farmers can increase their yield by 5 times .

Train

We personally train Hundreds of smallholder farmers using the  varieties who showed the best suitability for local conditions.

then we make sure those seeds become accessible to farmers in Ethiopia.

extention

We train Local experts to give guidance to smallholder farmers on a variety of agricultural domains.

We partner with local academy and agricultural offices in order to increase our impact.

demonstrate

We demonstrate new and improved technologies such as drip irrigation and trellising.

We see the potential of Ethiopian farmers and think ahead.
